During the summer, Finnish studio Breach announced Laser Matrix, an action game all about dodging lasers. Originally slated to have arrived by now, the team has now confirmed that Laser Matrix will begin its early access in October.

Laser Matrix Early Access

Part fitness game, part puzzle game, Laser Matrix transforms your home into an elaborate mixed reality challenge. Akin to having your own spy base filled with lasers and other hazards, Laser Matrix features handcrafted levels that ramp up in difficulty and adapt to your play space.

Take on Survival Mode’s 16 levels, taking your time to avoid obstacles so you don’t lose a life. Lose too many, and you’ll be sent back to the last checkpoint. Whereas the TimeTrail mode requires speed and dexterity. Speed your way through and try to set a leaderboard-defining time.

Breach will launch Laser Matrix as an Early Access title for Meta Quest on 1st October 2025. The team plans on adding additional levels and features during Early Access, with a full campaign and online multiplayer arriving in the 1.0 release.

Spy Game Central

Spy-themed games seem to be a bit of a new trend this fall. In addition to Laser Matrix, Triangular Pixels has just launched Unseen Diplomacy 2, another physical espionage game that involves physically crawling past traps and rolling under lasers.

However, Laser Matrix’s main competition will come from Laser Dance. The work of Thomas Van Bouwel (Cubism), the indie developer has been working on the much-anticipated project for a couple of years now. It’s due this year, so we’re eager to see which of these laser games will come out on top.
