When it comes to physics-based, fantasy sword fighting, Warpfrog’s Blade & Sorcery is hard to beat. Available for PCVR headsets on Steam and known as Blade & Sorcery: Nomad on Meta Quest, the fighting simulator launched in 2024. Now, the team has revealed some small details regarding their next game, and it won’t be a Blade & Sorcery sequel.

Warpfrog’s Next Game
Warpfrog isn’t yet ready to make an official reveal, but the team has teased details. They’ve gone on record to say that it definitely “is not Blade & Sorcery 2!” However, it will still be a physics-driven title and “share a lot of DNA with Blade & Sorcery.”
The announcement goes on to say that: “our next game will be VR, physics-based simulation, as anti-gamey as possible, and super modder-friendly.” Considering the modding community that’s built up around Blade & Sorcery, that should make many players happy.
When we’ll hear more remains to be seen, as Warpfrog isn’t quite done with its first game.
What’s Next for Blade & Sorcery?
After many years in Steam Early Access, Blade & Sorcery officially launched in June 2024, with what was called ‘The End Update’. At the time, this was said to be the last content update (apart from hotfixes), but they’ve been busy on one last hurrah (possibly).
Called the “Byeth Updates”, these are in fact four free content updates for both editions of the game. These will be based around the nations of Rakta, Sentara, Khar-Tib and Madlu, bringing official canon weapons and armour. Feature-heavy additions like new dungeons, maps or major mechanics will not be included as most of the team is focusing on the new game.
The Rakta Update will be the first to arrive, slated for late 2025, with the other three rolled out during 2026.
