Doborog Games has today launched a free update for Clone Drone in the Hyperdome. Adding the new ‘Skyscrapper Mode’, where players face off against an endless tower of robot destruction, along with a host of new features and improvements, this update is free and available to all players.

What is Clone Drone in the Hyperdome?
The original Clone Drone in the Danger Zone launched back in 2017 as an Early Access title. A full release for PC and consoles followed in 2021. The game was very well received, and so a sequel was perhaps inevitable. Nobody however, could’ve anticipated what would come next…
In 2024, Clone Drone in the Hyperdome launched as a VR exclusive sequel. And with that, a pretty fantastic one. The game sees you take on the role of a clone in some kind of combat game show. You enter the arena and take out a series of enemies however you choose; swords, polearms, bows, and more. The game features real-time physics and dismemberment. Lose an arm, and you’ll no longer be able to swing your weapon with it. And what’s more, it’s all presented with top tier mechanics, visuals and a splash of humour.
Our partners at 131XR reviewed the game earlier this year. You can check out exactly what they thought of Clone Drone in the Hyperdome in the video below.
Clone Drone in the Hyperdome Skyscrapper Update
Today, there’s reason to return to Clone Drone in the Hyperdome even if you’ve already beaten the game. In this new update, the Skyscrapper will rise from the wreckage and give you infinite floors of robot fighting. The higher you go, the harder it gets. You’ll earn rewards after beating each difficulty tier to gain extra lives or acquire new powers. Each floor has a theme: Fire weapons, giant saw blades, or 10 Captains.
The new update also adds a host of other features. These include a much-requested cutting resistance setting, adding increased difficulty and a more dynamic, tactile feel to combat. Furthermore, new green brains have been added to enemy heads that require the CPU of foes to be destroyed before they can be defeated.
“We were very proud of Clone Drone in the Hyperdome when it came out to rave reviews, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t room for improvement,” said Erik Rydeman, Creative Director at Doborog. “We’ve listened to our audience and knew that there was still untapped potential for Clone Drone. We wanted smarter enemies, tougher combat, and an endless mode where our more competitive players could compete against each other or aim for a new personal best. We’re so excited to watch our most dedicated players school us at our own game!”

Free, Free I Tell You!
The new update is available for all players now. If that wasn’t enough to convince you to return, it’s import to note that this Clone Drone in the Hyperdome update is free. Simply update your installed version of the game an voila! Brand new gameplay mode and mechanics will be yours!
That is, as long as you’ve already completed the main campaign. As stated above, the Skyscrapper Mode will only be playable after beating the Crashloop mode.
