What do you get when a psychedelic VR escape room detective adventure that involves mind-altering pills joins forces with an AI-driven VR therapist focused on emotional wellbeing? We’re not entirely sure, but it definitely has something to do with marketing. Dark Trip developers have teamed up with EvaAI for a mutual collaboration between the dark gameplay experience and AI therapy.

Dark Trip
Dark Trip launched back in April 2025. The game initially hit some stumbling blocks due to its decidedly adult themes. However, these were overcome, and the game is available now via Steam. A demo version is available for those who may be intrigued, but not yet ready to pull the trigger on a purchase.
Dark Trip invites players into a surreal escape room experience where reality and hallucination blur as you solve puzzles fuelled by psychedelic drugs. It’s a dark, immersive journey that pushes emotional boundaries and challenges perceptions.
EvaAI
EvaAI offers a calm and supportive virtual space where users can engage in AI-guided therapy sessions. The technology is designed to promote mental clarity and emotional resilience. It’s a tool for reflection, relaxation, and personal growth.
Entirely why a company focused on mental wellbeing would decide to partner with a game that is demonstrating the opposite is unclear. Unless of course, it’s purely about grabbing your attention.
Oh wait, that’s exactly what it is.
A Marriage Made in Marketing
Through the LikaTwo platform, these two very opposite VR experiences are now connected by interactive in-app menus and banners that guide users between the apps. It’s a cross-promotional “journey”. So say Dark Trip developers, iTales VR.
“We wanted to create something genuinely unexpected,” says Alexander Nasonov, Producer at iTales VR. “Dark Trip and EvaAI may seem worlds apart, but when we imagined the faces of the people who would hear about such a crazy collaboration, we knew we absolutely had to make it happen.”
Vladimir Matsel, Product Owner, EvaAI, added: “This collaboration is about creating a ‘wow’ effect – where two distinct VR worlds unite to amplify user discovery. Whether you’re seeking self-reflection with EvaAI or a thrilling challenge in Dark Trip, this campaign bridges the gap between growth and adventure.”
The campaign is now live on SideQuest and Meta Store. What do you think about it? Is it a useful collaboration, or simply a tool to get more users on a different app? Let us know in the comments below!
