You know the classic pip puzzle mini-game? The one where you have to connect a pipe from a starting point to an end point by moving blocks to create a path. You’ve seen it, we know you have. It’s featured in many games, from System Shock to Serious Sam 4. And now, Dada Zubaaan brings that experience to VR, in full 360 degrees.

What is Dada Zubaaan?
Dada Zubaaan is the classic slide puzzle game brought to life in VR. You’ll race against the clock to slide prismatic panels into an electrified pathway from the start point to finish. Level by level, the pathways grow longer and the board grows larger, soon reaching an immersive 360 degrees.
A free demo version featuring the game’s first stage is currently available for download on the Meta Store. So you can try it for yourself!
So it’s Just a Mini-Game?
Well, yes and no. Dada Zubaaan is very obviously based on the classic pipe puzzle. Back in 1989, Pipe Mania launched for Amiga, Atari ST and MS-DOS. This game saw a slowly filling pipe call upon players to complete the path by adding new pipe tiles before the ooze filled leaked out the end. Throughout the years, this formula has evolved and been reshaped into a mini-game featured in more modern titles. More commonly, you’ll now find all the tiles pre-placed and simply have to rotate them to complete the path.
Dada Zubaaan is a combination of these ideas, with the pipe slowly filling but with the tiles already placed. It’s taking the strengths of two renditions of this challenge and making one different title out of them. And indeed, doing so in VR.
Producer Jun Miyamoto said, “I wanted to make a game that people of any age could pick up and enjoy immediately. I’m serious about getting a million copies of the game into people’s hands, so go ahead: Pick it up, and slide the pieces into place. For many players, a few minutes with the Dada Zubaaan demo will soon turn into a daily routine.”
