Of the trio of VR games that made their way to Sony’s State of Play this week, only one has been eagerly awaited up until this point. And that is Moonhood’s The Midnight Walk. Serving up a brand new trailer for the online showcase, publisher Fast Travel Games also confirmed the dark adventure’s release date for PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets.

A Dark Claymation Adventure

Moonhood Studios originally began teasing the project way back in 2023. Comprised of a team who previously worked on titles such as Ghost Giant (2019) and Lost in Random (2021), The Midnight Walk is unique in the use of claymation to bring its world to life.

A synopsis explains that: “players become The Burnt One, a mysterious figure that has dug itself up from the ground to discover its purpose.” Along the way, players will befriend a lost lantern creature named Potboy, using his flame to light their way through a world of wonder and horror.

Set across five tales of “fire and darkness”, players will need to use a mixture of stealth and cunning to survive The Midnight Walk. They’ll also meet a myriad of ghoulish enemies and fantastical companions in this fantastical, hand-crafted world.
