Perp Games, longtime publisher of PlayStation VR titles at physical retail, has announced plans to release a PlayStation 4 edition of Do Not Open. Developed by Nox Noctis, the game has already been confirmed for PSVR2.
Developed by Nox Noctis, with the collaboration of Gammera Nest and PlayStation Talents, Do Not Open is a creepy horror escape room. Players will have to hide from killer monsters and solve puzzles at speed. Or die.
Do Not Open casts the player as Michael J. Goreng, a well-known zoologist and epidemiologist. One day arrive home. But it’s not your home. It’s like a parallel version of it, where everything that terrifies you can happen. The most important thing: your wife and daughter are in terrible danger. And another thing that is also of some importance: there is a supernatural, evil presence trying to rip your skin to pieces.
Do Not Open Gameplay
If this premise doesn’t seem terrifying enough, pay attention to the type of gameplay proposed by the people at Nox Noctis. This oppressive narrative framework is plays into a combination of escape rooms with first-person survival horror. You can only beat the game by solving complicated puzzles against the clock, all while hiding from the unspeakable nightmares that haunt you.
Each playthrough is a short, self-contained experience. The challenges and rooms are presented randomly, so you will never have the same experience twice.
The physical and digital edition of Do Not Open for PlayStation 4 arrives on 24th February, 2023. The game is already available for PC and PlayStation 5, with the PSVR 2 compatibility currently in development. It’s not yet known if the VR upgrade will be free, or a paid addition.
