The hugely popular VR exclusive title, Drunkn Bar Fight, debuted way back in 2016. Since it’s Steam Early Access release (ongoing), the game has launched on numerous formats. PC VR, Meta Quest and PlayStation VR have all seen their own versions, but the game has yet to launch for PSVR 2. That is, until now, as developer The Munky has announced a PSVR 2 release date for Drunkn Bar Fight.
Drunkn Bar Fight gives players the freedom to release your inner agent of chaos. As the name implies, you’re not expected to be on your best behaviour. Walk into bars, crash parties and use everything you can get your hands on as many ‘weapons of mass disturbance’ as possible. It’s not going to be a good night for the unsuspecting patrons.
Drunkn Bar Fight PSVR 2
The original release of Drunkn Bar Fight offered four varied locations. These included a rooftop bar and an alleyway. The PSVR 2 edition of the game however, will feature eight arenas. What new additions are set to be offered is not yet known, but the same can be said for the weapons. The PlayStation VR version held over 60 different objects that could be used to cause chaos in the world. The PSVR 2 release will offer over 100.
Of course, this new release of Drunkn Bar Fight will also support the headset and controller’s haptic feedback. There’s no word on whether or not eye-tracking has been implemented, however.
It’s expected that the same mechanics revolving drinking to supplement (or hinder) your abilities, plus secret weapons etc. will make their way into this new edition. It is, after all, the same game. And to that note, many who purchased the PlayStation VR original release will be keen to know if an upgrade option is going to be available. Sadly, at present The Munky has offered no confirmation either way on this matter.
The developer has confirmed however, that Drunkn Bar Fight will be available on PSVR 2 from 17th November, 2023. The game will be playable in single-player or with up to three other friends in online co-op, working your way through each area as a worse-for-wear team.
