Publisher tinyBuild and developer Scythe Dev Team, of Happy Humble’s Burger Farm fame, have partnered to launch something special for VR gamers. The horrifically blood-pumping Return to Northbury Grove is available now on Steam for free.
In Return to Northbury Grove, players will explore the interconnected Northbury Grove universe. Playing through the eyes of Liam Murphy, you’ll take on the role of an aspiring actor determined to land the role of a lifetime at the infamous Rock the Warehouse (RTW) music festival. It’s audition day on the RTW concert grounds. The air is chilly, and the arena is desolate. Liam’s bad feeling turns into a real nightmare as the Spector Forest Slasher kidnaps him and throws him into the basement of his labyrinthian kill house. Not Liam’s best day, then.
Players must use their wits and bravery to survive the traps, trials, and tribulations that lay before them. Will Liam become the Slasher’s latest victim? Or will he escape to the fresh air of freedom?
According to tinyBuild, this immersive VR experience is a ‘love letter to the slasher genre’. The experience aims to elevate the terror and ratchets up the tension of the Northbury Grove franchise. So don’t make a sound. Stay out of sight. And whatever you do, do not cross the Slasher.
