Sports games in VR have had a turbulent history. There’s just as many success stories as there are misfires, so it can be hard pick a winner from all the competitors. A new title from Gamitronics however, has stepped in with such confidence in its recreation of its source material that it’s hard to ignore: Darts VR2: Bullseye, available now for PSVR2, Meta Quest and PC VR.

Hitting the Bullseye
[Disclaimer: the team at XRSource has been involved in the production and distribution of Darts VR2: Bullseye and so will not be delivering a review of any kind. Instead, this is merely an informative article for the release of the game.]
As a darts game, Darts VR2: Bullseye features all of the gameplay you’d expect. Step up to the board, grab your set of three darts and aim for that bullseye (or triple 20, if you actually know what you’re doing). There’s a wide variety of gameplay modes included as well as avatar customisation, which is of course important for that online multiplayer.
Up to 16 players can join online matches, be they one-off games of 501 or full League style gameplay. Or even fighting zombies in a post-apocalyptic nightclub. Yeah, that fits.
Darts VR2: Bullseye Gameplay
The full list of gameplay modes featured in Darts VR2: Bullseye is as follows:

In order to deliver a more comprehensive look at what’s on offer, our friends over at 131XR have prepared a an in-depth explainer video for the game (embedded below).
ZOMBIES!!!
Video games and zombies. A tale as old as time.
But how do zombies fit into a darts game? Well, alongside the more familiar darts games of 501 and Killstreak, Darts VR2: Bullseye also throws in a horde mode. Here you must throw darts at the shambling undead as they approach you. You get points based on where you hit the zombie, and a headshot means instant death. Getting successive headshots offers up an explosive dart for area-of-effect damage!
The zombies mode is essentially a wave shooter, but with darts instead of guns. And we all know how VR gamers love a good wave shooter.
Darts VR2: Bullseye is available now for Meta Quest, PSVR2 and PC VR via SteamVR. The game is priced at $14.99 USD/£11.99 GBP. Are you aiming for the bullseye this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!
