DrumBeats VR has been confirmed for release on PSVR2, bringing its rhythm-action gameplay to Sony’s current-generation headset. Originally launched on multiple VR platforms including Meta Quest and PC VR, the reveal on the PlayStation Store sets to expand DrumBeats VR’s cross-platform availability, though no specific timeframe has yet been given.

DrumBeats VR Gameplay
At its core, DrumBeats VR is a rhythm-action game that emphasises musical engagement rather than competitive scoring alone. You’ll use motion controllers to strike virtual drums, pads, and percussion elements in time with musical tracks, creating rhythmic patterns and performing along with beats in a visually responsive environment.
While VR rhythm-action games often focus on directional inputs or simplistic trigger mechanics, DrumBeats VR attempts to bridge interactive music creation with gameplay feedback. This approach positions it alongside other immersive rhythm titles that prioritise physical motion such as interactive music studios.
Multi-Platform Releases
DrumBeats VR was first released for Meta Quest headsets back in 2021, where it has been presented as an accessible rhythm-action experience that combines tracking-based input with music creation and performance. The Meta Quest support includes Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest Pro, enabling standalone access without the need for a connected PC.
In addition to the standalone Meta Quest versions, DrumBeats VR has been available on PC VR platforms via SteamVR since mid-2024. The Steam listing shows support for a range of tracked headsets, including Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift models. If you’re using a tethered system to experience VR, the game will offer higher fidelity tracking and graphical quality.
This multi-format availability places the game among a select set of VR rhythm-action games that span both standalone and PC-connected hardware, supporting broad reach across the VR player base.

What PSVR2 Players Can Expect from DrumBeats VR
With the PSVR2 version confirmed, DrumBeats VR will join a growing suite of rhythm and music-oriented titles on Sony’s headset. Given the slow rollout of multi-platform editions for the game, you could assume feature parity across devices. While not yet confirmed, it’s likely that the PSVR2 version will offer the same gameplay mechanics adapted for Sony’s hardware.
DrumBeats VR’s arrival on PSVR2 doesn’t yet have a specific date. If you’re looking forward to the game, be sure to let us know in the comments below!
