Somehow, PSVR 2’s Top Downloads for December 2025 Remain Unchanged

PSVR 2’s monthly download charts (and previously PSVR) have always remained something of an anomaly. Whilst many big games have come and gone, two titles in particular have maintained their position as PSVR 2’s top downloads. And you’ve probably already guessed from the headline, they are Beat Saber and Job Simulator.

PSVR 2’s Top December Downloads

We all know by now that Sony has pretty much lost interest in PSVR 2. It’s not investing in new first-party games, and the only folks keeping the system alive are third-party devs who know owners are crying out for new content. Just one look at XRSource’s list of New VR Games in December 2025 highlights the problem. Meta Quest had 23 games arrive in comparison to PSVR 2’s three.

And even with Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow on the roster, it never managed to crack the top 10. Those that are are a mishmash of old-school titles alongside a couple of newer ones, like Alien: Rogue Incursion VR. However, the top of the tower remains stubbornly steadfast, with PSVR 2 players in both North America and the EU still loving Beat Saber and Job Simulator.

Beat Saber & Job Simulator Rule

This selection should come as a surprise to no one who follows PSVR 2’s trends. Both Beat Saber and Job Simulator are great games, but their permanent seat at the top gets more and more bizarre with each month. Job Simulator is a great introductory VR game, but it was released in 2016 for the original PSVR. Surely everyone’s played it by now? Plus, it hasn’t had any new content in years.

Beat Saber, on the other hand, is far newer and has received a plethora of music packs in its time. Thus, remaining relevant to new users. There is a big BUT, though. Beat Games – the studio behind the game and now owned by Meta – ended support for both the PS4 and PS5 iterations during the summer of 2025. And with multiplayer support ending on 21st January, maybe everyone’s getting one last go in.

Needless to say, PSVR 2’s stagnant chart is why XRSource tends not to cover it anymore.

Has the Discount Worked?

There is one final factor to consider. And that is the recent discount, dropping the PSVR 2 down to $299.99. Every time the headset has been discounted, it’s seen a surge in sales. And while we don’t know how many have been sold this winter season, new owners could explain why these older games continue to do so well.

Have you recently bought a PSVR 2? What were the first games you bought for it? Let us know in the comments!
