XREAL Games has officially launched Zero Caliber 2 Remastered for PCVR. Billed as “a complete evolution of the franchise that helped define the VR shooter genre”, XREAL Games has stated that Zero Caliber 2 Remastered is the studio’s “most ambitious project to date”.
What is Zero Caliber?
The Zero Caliber series is a VR first-person shooter franchise known for its immersive weapon mechanics, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. The original game, Zero Caliber VR, places players in a dystopian near-future setting where they must fight through a campaign. The game was notable for allowing you to play either solo or with up to four players in co-op.
What sets the series apart is its emphasis on physicality in VR: you manually reload, aim, change attachments, duck for cover, and work with your squad. The franchise now takes a leap forward with the launch of Zero Caliber 2 Remastered. The game promises refined weapon models, a full single-player campaign, co-op and PvP, and improved physics and visuals.
If you’re looking for a VR shooter that blends tactical realism with full-bodied immersion, the Zero Caliber series is among the stronger contenders.
Zero Caliber 2 Remastered Details
Reimagined and reengineered, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered delivers a full package. Single-player, four-player co-op, and classic PvP modes all rebuilt to modern VR standards with vastly improved visuals, combat systems, AI, and environmental scale. The result is a high-intensity VR shooter that captures the cinematic feel of big-budget action games, while maintaining the immersive, tactile experience that fans of the original Zero Caliber loved.
“The VR market isn’t exactly easy these days — big studios have mostly stepped away, but that just makes us more determined to keep going,” said Daniel Nyirfa, CMO at XREAL Games. “We’re here to prove that small indie teams can still deliver high-quality, full-scale VR shooters when others won’t.”
PCVR Only
Zero Caliber 2 Remastered is targetting a very specific segment of the VR market, launching for PCVR only. The game had a last minute price reduction, dropped to $24.99 (from $29.99), with an additional 10% discount at release.
Post-launch content updates are already planned for 2025, expanding on the game’s campaign and introducing new features to keep the action going strong.
