The sci-fi Action RTS Expansion VR has received its biggest update yet. Introducing a full single-player Campaign Mode designed from the ground up for VR. For the first time, players can experience a complete solo strategy journey: a series of story-driven missions that challenge them to adapt tactics, manage preset unit rosters, and overcome escalating objectives across the outer systems.
About Expansion VR
As stated above, Expansion VR is a sci-fi Action RTS built for VR. You’ll command armies with your hands, combining deck-building strategy with fast-paced duels.
Players build custom decks of units — from agile swarmers to devastating siege machines — and deploy them directly with motion controls. Every match is a short, high-stakes battle against either AI opponents or real players online.
Designed for competitive replayability, Expansion VR offers diverse sci-fi arenas, solo and multiplayer modes, and ongoing updates shaped by community feedback.
Expansion VR Campaign Mode
Built on Expansion VR’s above hand-based control system, the campaign transforms every mission into a physical, immersive command experience. Players will deploy units, defend positions, and execute strategies entirely with motion control. The campaign adds a whole new dimension to Expansion VR, as you’ll now get to experience the world Plazma Studio has built not just through battles, but through missions that test strategy, adaptability, and command.
The campaign mode has been structured specifically for solo play. The team at Plazma Studio has added a new story story-driven element to the game. Each mission offers a unique tactical setup as corporate rivalries and resource wars unfold across the stars. To accommodate this new addition, enemy behavior and gameplay flow have been refined.
The Expansion VR Campaign mode is available now, both on Meta Quest and via Steam for PC VR.
Future Expansions
The introduction of a Campaign Mode marks a major step in Expansion VR’s evolution. Expanding from a competitive RTS experience into a full-featured VR strategy title with both solo and multiplayer depth, whilst still being an Early Access title. We can expect more expansions and updates to follow in the coming months.
