Bloverk Games’ Genotype launched late last year as a BioShock inspired VR FPS. Today, the studio has announced the launch of an update for the game. Promising a ‘complete overhaul’ of the combat in Genotype, this new update is available for Meta Quest players now, and will be included in the upcoming PSVR 2 and PC VR versions from day one.
Bolverk Games launched its sci-fi shooter Genotype back in October for Meta Quest headsets. Well received by players only a month later the studio discounted the game for no apparent reason. This week, Bolverk has announced a ‘re-launch’ of Genotype, dropping a huge update next month whilst confirming PSVR 2.
Bolverk Games’ Genotype has only been available a month, yet it seems not all is well. Since Friday, 11th November, 2023, the game has been on sale for $21.99 USD in the Meta Quest Store, down from $34.99. The discount will continue until the game’s price permanently changes to $24.99 on 27th November. No reason has been given for the Genotype price drop.
Bolverk Games’ Genotype launched last month, compatible with the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro headsets. At the time, XR Source hypothesized that Genotype would also see compatibility with the Meta Quest 3. This turned out to be factual, but moreover the studio has now launched a patch to improve the quality of the game’s visuals on Meta’s latest headset.
Following a successful beta test early this year, the release date and price for Bolverk games’ Genotype has been announced. Explore an Antarctic research base overrun by monstrous beasts, wielding high-tech gloves that print living organisms you can use as weapons and survival tools. A little gruesome, then.
