Military shooter Alvo has been around for several years now. Originally a PSVR game before adding support for Meta Quest and then PSVR 2, Steam was the one platform always missing. For those PCVR players that have been awaiting its arrival, the wait is almost over. Alvo hits Steam next week.
When it comes to zombies in pop culture it kind of feels like everything has been done to death (yeah, yeah, I know). films, TV shows, and even games went through a stale era. However, you can’t keep a brain-hungry corpse down for long, with VR’s unique blend of physical mechanics breathing new life into the genre. The end of August saw the arrival of two major tactical shooters for PSVR 2. Firewall Ultra and Crossfire: Sierra Squad arrived within a week of each other, offering very different military first-person shooters (FPS). Today, PSVR 2 owners have a third choice, in the form of Alvo which is out now.
Tomorrow sees the launch of the online tactical shooter Alvo for PlayStation VR 2. Developer OutsideIn Entertainment has brought the FPS to most VR headsets, with cross-platform support across all of them. The team aren’t stopping there, revealing an extensive Alvo roadmap for the next eight months.
Whilst August tends to be a quiet month for VR games – tell that to Firewall Ultra and Crossfire: Sierra Squad – September usually sees things pick up. That certainly seems to be the case with 14 titles across all formats currently scheduled for release. Below you’ll find all the new VR games set to arrive this month.

The competitive military shooter Alvo has been available for PlayStation for a couple of years now. Developer Mardonpol expanded support to Quest 2 and Pico headsets last year, whilst confirming PSVR 2 and SteamVR ports were being worked on. This week the studio has released an exciting update for both platforms, noting that the launch isn’t too far away.
