There are some great mech games for VR headsets – see our roundup of Best VR Mech Games for more info – but there’s always room for more. If you love giant lumbering war machines then the next to keep an eye out for is Big Shots. Developer AlterEyes has released a new trailer for the roguelike and announced that Big Shots is set to arrive in Q1 2024.

In Big Shots you jump into a colossal walking mech to save the world from alien hordes. As an elite alien exterminator, it’s up to you to reclaim the planet, upgrading your ride in the process. This being an all-out VR roguelike shooter, you can build your ultimate mech. At the main store, you can acquire permanent upgrades that’ll serve you well each and every time. Then during each run, you’ll be able to pick up unique buffs such as increasing critical hit or improving your fire rate.

Taking the Big Shots

Mechs might not be known for their agility but AlterEyes has ensured that Big Shots provides as much comfortable mobility as possible. “Take advantage of our innovative movement system to move around freely in a swift, immersive, and comfortable manner,” says the team. “No more standing in predefined positions or being restricted by teleportation, but unlimited mobility and opportunities at your disposal.”

Even better than that, Big Shots roguelike gameplay can be enjoyed with a friend. The co-op mode supports cross-platform gameplay between all editions! When you’re not kicking alien butt solo, of course.

PlayStation VR 2, Meta Quest 3 & 2, PICO and SteamVR headsets will support Big Shots when it arrives in Q1 2024. The game supports English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.
