Mannequin Confirmed for Meta Quest, PCVR & PSVR 2

Mannequin keyart

Fast Travel Games recently announced Mannequin, an asymmetric multiplayer VR game for up to five players. The initial announcement came via the PlayStation Blog, which detailed the game for PSVR 2. However, since then the studio has confirmed that the game will also be coming to Meta Quest and SteamVR platforms.

The world has stopped. Time is frozen. All attempts to make contact with the aliens have failed. Special Agents have been deployed to neutralise the threat once and for all. Mannequin is filled with suspense, social deduction and fast, sudden action, promise Fast Travel Games. The game pits alien ‘mannequins’ who blend in among frozen earthlings against special agents on the hunt to exterminate them.

Mannequin blends suspense and strategy in a unique way that can only be captured in VR,” explained James Hunt, Game Director. “Each encounter will have your heart beating, encouraging teamwork and clever tactics. The world may be frozen, but you must remain fluid – it’s about outthinking your opponents and staying one step ahead.

Mannequin Gameplay

With an extraterrestrial presence appearing across the globe, and the world has suddenly stopped. The First Responders sent in to investigate the sites have all fallen victim to the frozen time. In matches for up to five players, you can play as an alien Mannequin or join the human special forces as an Agent. Prowess lies not in marksmanship, but in the art of outwitting the adversary.

Mannequins focus on close combat and can time-freeze threats by touch. Players can use their VR headset, controllers and body to pose in 3D space in order to blend in among the time-frozen humans. Infiltration is the tool, and the art of camouflage is the mastery.

Agents specialise in ranged combat with an EMP Gun to neutralise the aliens. You must use the EMF Reader to uncover concealed threats, or leverage the Power Stations to recharge and seize the tactical edge in combat.

Mannequin is set to launch in 2024. No specific date has yet been given, nor confirmation of a simulatenous release across all platforms. However, given that Mannequin is a multiplayer-orientated title, we’ve got to believe that’s what Fast Travel Games are aiming for.
