Following the launch of a demo version of the game last month, MoonMonster Studios has officially launched Space Control for Meta Quest and PC VR. A comedy game in which you’ve been taken hostage by an intergalactic corporation, you’ll be engaging in a wide variety of tasks in order to pay off a debt you unwittingly managed to accumulate.

Take Control in Space Control

Space Control spans three episodes set in a cartoony world. In each episode you’ll engage with different jobs set in a corporate space station, at the behest of a mega corporation. Your goal? To work off your debt (which isn’t even yours, really). However, it’s not as simple as slave labour. You’ll be trying to survive with your alien crewmates Melody, Widgett and Zorgle, and your AI companion Sydra on hand to help you figure out your place on the corporate ladder.

The gameplay revolves around performing tasks designed specifically to make use of the technology available to VR games. You’ll pull, tug, bounce and throw around all kinds of aliens, gadgets, and thingamajigs. According to MoonMonster Studios, almost everything in the game is interactable.

All Hail Glorpo, Inc.

According to MoonMonster Studios, your time within the world (universe?) of Space Control will flow as follows:

  • Day 1 – Fresh Recruits: Ensure Glorpo Inc.’s growth by processing fresh recruits.
  • Day 2 – Best Flavour Ever: Manage alien infants with a taste for chaos.
  • Day 3 – GlorpoVision: Cook questionable space snacks at the GlorpoVision Music Festival. Featuring an exclusive K-Pop anthem written and performed by Jantine Annika Heij (Monsta X, NCT 127) and composed and produced by Kejero (Starship Troopers: Terran Command).

Throughout the game you’ll be abducting new recruits in the Abductorium, taking care of alien babies at the Daycare and cooking up some questionable space snacks at the GlorpoVision Music festival.

Space Control Launch Date

From today, you can enjoy cartoony environments inspired by the absurdity of beloved shows like Futurama and Rick & Morty with the official launch of Space Control. The game is available now for Meta Quest and PC VR.

“We realize releasing a comedy game on April 1st sounds like a setup. But Glorpo Inc. doesn’t believe in jokes, only productivity. The debt is real, the music is fire and the alien babies are very, very hungry and need to be fed,” Gilles Vancoillie, founder of MoonMonster Studios.
