Kill it With Fire Scuttles onto VR Headsets in April

Kill it With Fire VR keyart

Is any creature more universally disliked than the spider? They’re everywhere and yet most can’t stand to live with them, which is the entire pretence for Kill it With Fire. Originally released back in 2020 for PC and consoles, the spider-filled slaughter is coming to virtual reality headsets in a few weeks.

Created by developer Casey Donnellan Games and publisher tinyBuild, Kill it With Fire VR looks to offer the same bonkers gameplay as the flatscreen version. However, as you’re in VR, this time all those speedy, eight-legged freaks will be jumping directly at your face!

If your arachnophobia was set off by the original game then the VR edition is going to be even more intense.

Kill them all with fire!

A variety of different spiders have invaded your neighbourhood and it is up to you to exterminate them. Shoot them, sure why not? Prefer a trimmer, yes that’s in there. Or why not get some petrol and burn them out? There are eight varieties of spider, red ones that explode, ones that spawn babies and, of course, jumpers – everyone’s favourite.

“With the immersive power of VR, fans can finally experience the thrill of hunting down pesky spiders in a way that feels almost lifelike,” said Casey Donnellan, solo developer of Kill It With Fire in a statement. “Get ready to feel the rush of adrenaline as you blast your way through levels, taking down every eight-legged foe in your path.”

Kill It With Fire VR will launch on Thursday 13th April 2023. It’ll support Meta Quest 2, PC VR via Steam, and PlayStation VR 1 & 2. Or if the VR edition seems too scary the flatscreen version is only £12.79 GBP/$14.99 USD/ €14.99 EUR on Steam.
